<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a ferrule from damaging and breaking by providing a plug protection part which is fitted onto the outer periphery of a plug and axially slidable. CONSTITUTION:The protection part 4 has plural slits 5 extending from both axial end parts to the opposite end parts. Then when the plug 100 is coupled with an adapter 6, the plug 100 is pushed to fit the claw part 4a of the protec tion part 4 in the groove part 6a of the adapter 6. Then, the clamping part 2 of the plug 100 is clamped to the clamping part 6b of the adapter 6. At this time, the claw part 4b of the plug protection part 4 is opened to move beyond the projection part 2a of the plug clamping part 2. Consequently, the ferrule 1 projects from the plug protection part 4 and an optical fiber is connected optically. Then when the plug 100 is not clamped to the adapter 6, the ferrule 1 is put inside from the tip of the protection part 4, so the ferrule 1 is prevented from damaging and breaking even when dropped by mistake.</p> |
