<p>PURPOSE:To make filling of slab polyurethane foam easy, by compressing slab polyurethane foam which is slow in restoring its original dimension and inserting it through a surface opening of a vehicle body member for filling the inner cavity of the body member with it before it restores the dimension. CONSTITUTION:When a block 1 of slab polyuretane foam which is relatively slow in restoring its original dimension is to be filled into a vehicle body part such as a pillar 2, the block 1 is compressed at first to make a bar-shaped compressed body 1' of the slab polyurethane foam of which diameter is smaller than the inner diameter of the opening 3 of the pillar 2. Then, the compressed body 1' is inserted into the inner cavity of the pillar 2 through the opening 3 of the pillar 2. Although the compressed body 1' is in a compressed state just after insertion, its original dimension is restored to return to its original state after a prescribed period of times elapses and then it entirely expands in the pillar 2, whereby the block 1 can be filled in the pillar 2 without gap.</p> |
