PURPOSE:To disperse the discharge gas and soot far away even when a vessel is stopping or the wind force is insufficient by constructing such that a discharge gas damper is provided in front of a top cover board while the lower section of a lower space front chamber is communicated through a reversible fan with an inboard suction/ discharge duct and through a suction damper with the outer air. CONSTITUTION:When a vessel is stopped or the wind force is insufficient, a handle 47 is pulled down to the lowermost position I to bring a discharge damper 36 into an open condition (a solid line position I) while a suction damper 40 into a closed condition (a solid line position I). Here, a reversible fan 37 will rotate to discharge gas. Consequently, the discharged gas from a suction/discharge duct 38 communicating with the inboard is sucked by means of the reversible fan 37 and ascends through a lower space front chamber 23 to reach to an upper space front chamber 21 through a discharge damper 36. Furthermore, it will flow through a slit 34 and an upper space rear chamber 22 to the outboard. Said flow will carry the gas and soot 50 discharged through a smokestack 11 to a distant place. Since the wind force is produced by means of the fan 37, the discharged gas and soot are dispersed to a sufficiently distant place.
