PURPOSE:To improve the recording and reproducing characteristic of the titled head by bonding an Fe-Al-Si alloy and a high-mu ferrite material constituting the magnetic circuit part through a mutual-diffusion layer by a solid phase reaction. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic gap chip 4 is formed with the Fe-Al-Si alloy 11, the remaining magnetic circuit part including the recording medium sliding surfaces on both sides of the magnetic gap chip 4 is formed with a ferrite material 12 having higher permeability than the magnetic gap chip 4, and the magnetic gap chip 4 consisting of the Fe-Al-Si alloy 11 and the magnetic circuit part consisting of the ferrite material are bonded through the mutual-diffusion layer by a solid-phase reaction. When an oxide film 11a is formed on the surface of the Fe-Al-Si alloy 11 before the Fe-Al-Si alloy 11 and the ferrite 12 are heat-treated, the mutual-diffusion layer is formed by the solid-phase reaction of the oxide film 11a and the ferrite 12 which is an oxide magnetic substance, and both materials are electrically and completely connected. Consequently, the permeability of the whole magnetic head is enhanced, the magnetic resistance is reduced, and the magnetic efficiency of the whole head can be reduced.
