An electrical terminal is provided with an impressed rib 28 to make the contact section more rigid and to give increased crimping pressure against a lead in the lead cylinder 16. The terminal 10 which is punched and constructed from a thin metal blank fulfils the electrical and mechanical requirements and is cheaper to manufacture than previously known terminals.
