PURPOSE:To provide a hot water storage device capable of using a heat pump singly as a heat source and obtaining a sufficient quantity of usable hot water even when a hot water storage tank is miniaturized by using an auxiliary heat exchanger as an evaporator by switching a changeover valve. CONSTITUTION:When the operation of a heat pump type freezing cycle is carried out, water 30 within a hot water storage tank 3 is heated, and the temperature of water exceeds a condensation point of a coolant, a coolant gas in a heat exchanger 2 for hot water storage is not radiated and condensed. The coolant gas is introduced as it is into an auxiliary heat exchanger 4 wherein it is heat-exchanged with water 50 within an auxiliary tank 5. Thus, the coolant gas is radiated, condensed and liquefied, and drives the heat pump type freezing cycle while displaying a heating effect, to heat a heat storing agent 50 within an auxiliary tank 5 to store heat. When hot water within the hot water storage tank 3 is desired to be heated, a four-way valve 9 is changed over and an electromagnetic valve 10 is opened and an electromagnetic valve 11 is closed whereby a coolant circuit using an auxiliary heat exchanger 4 of an auxiliary tank 5 is formed as an evaporator to carry out the operation of the heat pump type freezing cycle. |
