PURPOSE:To move a cursor speedily and accurately by moving the cursor by distance corresponding to the number of numeric key according to the movement direction of a movement key by pressing the predetermined movement key and numerical key selectively. CONSTITUTION:The cursor indicates a current operation position at any time while a user inputs data by utilizing a keyboard 1. When the cursor is at an optional position on the screen of a display device 2, a numeric key 1c for determining movement distance is pressed along with a key 1b for controlling lateral movement and then the cursor moves by as much as the specified number of digits from the current position. This movement distance is relative distance from the current cursor movement. Further, when a numeric key 1c for determining movement distance is pressed while a key 1a for controlling longitudinal movement is pressed, the cursor moves by as much as the specified number of lines from the current position. A right-left movement direction and an up- down movement direction are specified on the basis whether movement distance is plus or minus.
