摘要 1,170,257. Knitting machines; looms. FRANZ MORAT K.G. 28 Oct., 1966 [29 Oct., 1965], No. 48493/66. Headings D1C and D1E. Pattern control of the needles of a knitting machine, or the heddles of a loom, comprises a control head which is moved across a row of control elements for the needles or heddles in synchronism with reading means along a pattern. As the control head moves, the control elements are fed towards a continuously magnetised track where they adhere and are not actuated by driving means unless, at an electromagnetic selection zone, they are directed by a signal from the reading device to move to a position in which they are actuated. As applied to a flat parallel bed knitting machine (figs. 1, 2 and 7) three electromagnetic control devices 128<SP>1</SP>, 128<SP>2</SP>, 128<SP>3</SP> corresponding to three electro-optical scanning devices 211<SP>1</SP>, 211<SP>2</SP> and 211<SP>3</SP> of a pattern 202 are mounted side by side on the cam carriage 109 of the machine 101 which is moved in synchronism with the scanning devices through a connecting rod 212. Time control devices Z1 may also be provided to ensure correct matching of the scanning devices with the electromagnetic control devices. Each control device comprises, see fig. 7, two continuously magnetised track portions 133, 133a and a central portion 134 under control of the electromagnetic coil 158. As the cam carriage with the control device is moved across the needle bed, spring coupling members 111 on jacks 106 are deflected by one of two cams 126, 136, according to direction of movement, into contact with the magnetised track 133 or 133a. The coupling members 111 are held in engagement with this track and do not effect a connection between their cam actuated jacks and the respective needles so that the needles are not lifted to receive yarn. If however, on passing the central zone 134 of the track, the electromagnet is energised by the pattern device the respective coupling member 111 is moved away from the track to a position 111a in which connection between the jack and needle is effected so that the needle is lifted to receive yarn. The magnetised track is pivoted to accommodate the movement of the spring coupling members. For a Jacquard loom, fig. 16, spring coupling members 421 are provided on the rows of selector needles 403 controlling the hooks 414 of a griffe frame 411. Electromagnetic control devices 428 on the arms 429 of a plate 427 movable along the rows of needles control the members 321 so that, following actuation of the needles to the right by cams 419, they are held by the magnetic track to render, at the appropriate moment, the hooks inoperative or, moved by the electromagnet to engage behind fixed rails 423 so that the hooks are engaged on rise of the griffe frame. Cam means 426 are provided for returning the coupling members towards the magnetic track. The spring coupling members may be provided on separate rods aligned with the Jacquard selector rods and housed within a separate control box (Fig. 22, not shown). In this case after all three separate rods have been set in accordance with a pattern row the said control box is moved bodily towards the Jacquard selector rods to move same and the hooks in accordance with the pattern. This bodily movement is effected by the griffe frame on its downward movement. Instead of an electro-optically scanned pattern 202, other pattern devices such as coded perforated cards, paper tapes, magnetic tapes, banks of cams and similar means may be employed.
