PURPOSE:To make discrimination and selection of the male and female of the embryo of a mammal having the histocompatibility antigen specific to the male by using the embryo of the above-mentioned mammal as an H-Y antibody having the effect of suppressing the differentiation thereof without killing and injuring the embryo. CONSTITUTION:The embryo of the mammal having the histocompatibility antigen (H-Y antigen) specific to the male is used as the H-Y antibody to exhibit the effect of suppressing the differentiation thereof without killing and injuring the embryo and to permit the discrimination and selection of the male or female of the embryo by such effect. The effective immunization of a rat or mouse with the H-Y antigen is required. to prepare the H-Y antibody having such high antibody titer. The male and female having exactly the same genic background of an inbred system are used for the specimen animal for the above- mentioned purpose. The tissue such as the spleen or neonatal testis having the strong H-Y antigenicity is homoginated and is repeatedly dosed to the female, by which the intended antiserum is obtd.
