PURPOSE:To inhibit the resonance of a stepping motor, and to reduce noises by returning an excitation sequence by one step in a short time and returning it to an original state when the separation of stepping pulses is close to the resonance frequency of a stepping motor. CONSTITUTION:The separation of stepping pulses is measured by first two stepping pulses in a reading circuit 7. When the separation is close to the response frequency of a stepping motor 3, a stepping-sequence control circuit 9 controls an excitation sequence so as to return it by one step in a short time and return it to an original state. Accordingly, the resonance of the stepping motor is suppressed, thus reducing noises with the movement of a head carriage. |
