PURPOSE:To ensure the rectilinearity of rear wheels, by gradually increasing a caster angle in accordance with an increase in the relative displacement between a wheel and a vehicle body on the rebound side so that a positive value near to zero is obtained on the bump side to reduce variations in steering force during turning of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A lower arm 20 for supporting a rear wheel 21 is arranged to that the rotary axis 31 of its journalling section with respect to a vehicle body is extended in substantially parallel with the longitudinal center line of the vehicle body, and the rotary axis 32 of an upper arm 19 is extended so that the front section of the rotary axis of the arm 19 is inclined inward. With this arrangement, the axis connecting between the coupling points 33, 34 of both arms 19, 20 with respect to a knuckle 9 is aligned with the king pin axis 35, and the locus of the coupling point of the upper arm 19 with respect to the knuckle 22 includes a large longitudinal component, and the coupling point 34 between the lower arm 20 and the knuckle 22 is moved in a substantially vertical direction. Further, the longitudinal movement of the coupling point 33 is less on the bump side and is larger on the rebound side. With this arrangement it is possible to reduce variations in steering force during turning of the vehicle, thereby it is possible to enhance the rectilinearity of the rear wheel. |
