The invention relates to a process for producing a pigment which contains titanium dioxide and calcium fluoride. According to the invention, calcium fluoride is formed in situ in an aqueous solution which at the same time contains titanium dioxide, and the resulting mixed pigment, containing calcium fluoride and titanium dioxide, is separated from the aqueous solution. Such a mixed pigment is used as a pigment in paper.
