Pharmaceutical compositions having anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity contain 1- (p - methoxyphenyl)-2-mercaptobenzimidazole, (1 - (p-methoxyphenyl)-2-thio-benzimidazole), and/or its salts with pharmaceutically acceptable mineral or organic acids together with a pharmaceutically acceptable base or carrier. The compositions may be in the form of tablets, capsules, geloids, suppositories or creams. The compositions may also contain other anti-inflammatory agents e.g. corticosteroids, salicylates and pyrazoles. |
