摘要 1,207,656. Recovering yeast &c. INSTITUT FRANCAIS DU PETROLE DES CARBURANTS ET LUBRIFIANTS. May 8, 1969 [May 10, 1968], No.23473/69. Heading C6F. A micro-organism (yeasts, moulds or bacteria) is separated from a fermentation wort also containing at least one hydrocarbon, water and inorganic salts by contacting this wort with (a) at least one dialkyl-ketone having at least 4 carbon atoms per molecule exemplified by methyl-ethyl-ketone, diethyl-ketone, propylethyl-ketone and methyl-isobutyl-ketone, and (b) at least one of acetone, ethanol, n-propanol, iso-propanol and tert-butanol, and of the three phases formed the heavy aqueous phase containing purified micro-organism is separated from the two other phases. Part of the aqueous phase of the culture broth may have been decanted off prior to the treatment. The broth may be contacted with the solvents (a) and (b) sequentially or with a preformed mixture. The ratio by weight of solvent (a) to solvent (b) is between 1 and 8 at the time of contact. A small amount of an additional solvent e.g. a chlorinated hydrocarbon, may be included in the mixture. Examples are directed to separating cells of Candida lipolytica from culture media employing mixtures of solvents (a) and (b) according to the invention. Comparative experiments disclose the use of the following mixtures of solvents: (i) acetone and iso-propanol, and (ii) hexane and ethanol.
