PURPOSE:To reduce shifting shocks and to improve responsiveness when there is a difference of two or more stage in present and target transmission stages and when shifting is made one by one in stages, by performing the shifting with a time lag corresponding to the revolution speed of an engine drive train. CONSTITUTION:An output from a stage difference discrimination means A is inputted to a transmission stage control means B that changes the speed stage one by one from a present stage N to a target stage Nr while maintaining time intervals set between the intervening stages. The set time for the transmission stage control means B is set with a time setting means D which, receiving a signal from a revolution speed detection means C of an engine drive train, sets a greater time when the revolution speed is higher than when the revolution speed is lower. This makes the shifting to be made slowly when the speed is high and to be made rapidly when the speed is low to reduce the shifting shocks and to improve responsiveness. |
