PURPOSE:To read the information without being damaged even when it is placed at a bad environment judged from a magnetic point of view by reading the stored information based on a sound which is generated at a time when gas is sprayed at the hole forming the area of a card. CONSTITUTION:A card processor is equipped with a card carrying part 2, a punching part 3, and a card reading part 4. At the punching part 3, a hole corresponding to the information is punched on a carried card 1. At the end reading part 4, air is ejected on the card from the tip of a nozzle 22. The sound is generated with the air corresponding to the hole punched on the card 1, and the sound is collected at a microphone. By applying a frequency analysis on the output of a microphone 25, the presence/absence of the hole on the card 1, that is, the information stored on the card 1 can be recognized.
