PURPOSE:To secure a satisfactory contact state between a magnetic head and a rotary recording medium at all times even though the head fixed to a signal scanner supporter has up-down movement owing to the surface deflection of the recording medium, by setting two pairs of forked cantilevers between buffer members. CONSTITUTION:The forked cantilevers 7 and 10 are set parallel with each other and a holder A and a signal scanner supporter B are also set parallel with each other. In such constitution, both the 1st and 2nd levers 7 and 10 and the supporter B, etc. have displacement actions so that the signal scanner is displaced only in the vertical direction in case a rotary recording medium D has its surface deflection. As a result, a normal contact state is always secured between the signal scanner and the surface of the medium D. This ensures stable recording/reproducing actions.
