PURPOSE:To form an image of high quality stably by a small-space developing deice by detecting a developer mixing ratio by a detection sensor at any time and making a display warning of the stop or restart of copying operation or deficiency in mixture. CONSTITUTION:A developer agitated by upper and lower screws 13 and 14 is sent to a developing sleeve 20 to develop a latent image on a photosensitive body 1. When the toner mixing ratio detected by the sensor 15 is equal to a specific value, copying operation is started and when the mixing ratio is smaller than the specific value, toner is supplied and the developer is agitated. When the ratio does not reach the specific value even 20-40sec after the stop of the operation, that is displayed and warned. Thus, the storage amount of the developer in a developing container is reduced as much as possible and the developer is mixed and agitated uniformly all the time to form an image of high quality having no fogging and also reduce the cost and space. |
