Tensioning device enabling a horizontal or sloping blind of the canopy type to be wound up and unwound. The subject of the invention is to make it easier to open up a blind of the canopy type so as to achieve large extensions. This tensioning device consists, in its principle, in respect of one of its elements: of a cable 4 connected to the load bar 2, which goes around a return pulley 7, then the movable pulley 5, then the fixed pulley 6 and finally is fastened to the attachment point 9 of the movable cover 15 equipped with the pulley 5 and fastened firmly to the end 14 of the spring 8 according to Figure 1. This device according to the invention is intended in particular for opening and closing blinds of the canopy type. <IMAGE>
