Process for producing a composite glass or a terrestrial solar generator using a temperature/pressure treatment, the composite glass having two glass panes and a hot-melt adhesive film disposed between them or, in the case of the solar generator, the connected cells being laid between hot-melt adhesive films and provided on both sides with protective coverings, preferably glass panes. The edges of the glass panes or the protective coverings are enclosed in a U-shaped frame by means of an adhesive sealing composition. A continuous production process is obtained in that a profiled elastomeric ring forming the sealing composition is laid around the end sides of the built-up, non-adhesively-bonded composite. The ring encloses the U-shaped frame. The encapsulation and framing of the composite is carried out by the temperature/pressure treatment in one process step.
