PURPOSE:To remove a PLCC package easily and without damaging a substrate and packages nearby even if mounting density is high by providing recessed parts, in which the lead parts of the PLCC package is fitted, are provided inside the tip of an iron. CONSTITUTION:Holding parts 11a of an iron tip 11 is placed above a PLCC package 2 and the iron tip 11 is pushed down to make recessed parts 11b fitted to lead parts 2a. If this state is maintained for a certain period, soldered parts 14 are melted by the heating of the iron tip 11. After that, if the iron tip 11 is lifted up, the PLCC package 2 is held by the holding parts 11a of the iron tip 11 and lifted with the iron tip 11 and removed from a substrate 1 and, if a pusher 12 is pressed, the PLCC package 2 is released from the recessed parts 11b of the iron tip 11. With this constitution, the PLCC package 2 can be removed out only by the vertical movement of the iron tip 11.
