If it is intended to provide foldable liftgates on motor vehicles which have thick vehicle-body floors, for example in the case of refrigerator vehicles, to accommodate hoisting-gear elements the floor must be partially cut out so that the hoisting gear, in the swung-up state, reaches with its loading platform (15) a loading-surface level (17) of a utility-vehicle body if, in a state lowered to a base (35), the loading platform (15) is not to exceed a predetermined inclination with regard to the base (35). By providing an additional pair of parallelogram links (19, 20) between the free pivot ends of known pairs of parallelogram links (11, 12) and the loading platform (15), it is achieved that, when pivoting the parallelogram links (11, 12) away from the base (35), the distance between the topside (16) of the loading platform (15) and an imaginary plane which passes through the axis (22) of articulation and at which the parallelogram link (11) is connected to the additional parallelogram link (19), is increased with the result that even thick floors of vehicle bodies can be surmounted. <IMAGE>
