The present invention relates to a method for temporary fastening of a tennis ball to a tennis racquet. This is a device for gripping balls, which is integral with the racquet, located at one or other of the ends of the latter, which thus permits recovery of the balls from the ground without having to bend down. This device will, in all cases, be provided discreetly and even retractably, so as not to cause a hindrance during playing phases. It will have to pinch the ball in order to permit its recovery. This device will have to be able to equip existing racquets, but will also be provided on racquets designed as a result. The drawing represents a device consisting of two jaws 1 which form an integral part of the handle of the racquet. This device could also form an integral part of an arm extension piece of adapted shape. Potential users will be of any age, since recovering a ball on the ground is never pleasant, particularly at the end of a session. Such a device, well-integrated into a type of racquet, will be able to contribute to its development. A ball collector equipped with a gripping device integral with an arm extension piece will operate much better than the hand. <IMAGE>
