Storage box (1), especially for mounting beneath the body of a lorry and for accommodating tools in particular, being composed of a right parallelepipedal container having a floor (2), two side walls (3, 4), a rear wall (5), an upper wall (6) and a front access aperture which can be closed off by means of a folding lid (7), the folding lid (7) being preferably pivotably mounted in that region of the floor which is adjacent to the access aperture, and of a pivotably mounted locking clamp (13) which engages round the folding lid (7) over the entire width of the latter when it is positioned so as to close off the access aperture, the said clamp resting against the lid (7) with pretensioning. <IMAGE>
