The aim of the invention is a simple, functionally reliable and automatic adjusting and locking device in which the masses involved in adjusting the width of feed bars of a lever-driven transfer device are low and which can also be used for automatic tool changing. The object of the invention is to design a tiltable adjusting and locking device in such a way that adjustment and locking take place independently of the drive-lever system of the feed bars and the adjusting mechanism is connected to the transfer device only in its working state.
