A driverless transport means is proposed which is able to move automatically between stations, e.g. of different processing machines. The transport means is itself provided in its turn with an inherently mobile workpiece magazine, by means of which a multiplicity of annular workpieces, especially eccentric piston rings, which are closed and/or slotted at one point of their circumference can, singly or in bundles, be automatically received, delivered, stored and, if so desired, aligned according to certain criteria during transport, loading or unloading. <IMAGE>
