Apparatus and method as an orientation aid to the blind and those with impaired vision using the ultrasound pulse echo method

The invention describes an apparatus which provides an orientation aid to the blind and those with impaired vision. A miniaturised ultrasound pulse echo time evaluation unit is placed on the cane of the blind person such that the unit monitors the upper region. The invention describes some technical novelties in this connection.
