PURPOSE:To prevent regenerative deterioration caused by reading light, in a heat mode optical recording medium, by forming a recording layer from a composition of a dye comprixing a specific compound in which a quencher is contained. CONSTITUTION:One or more of a pyrylium, thiapyrylium, selenapyrylium or teluropyrylium dye represented by formula (wherein R1, R3 and R5 are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic residue or a group having mono- or polymethine chain and R2 and R4 are a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group and an aryl group) and a quencher are contained in the recording layer on a base material. By this method, regenerative deterioration of S/N caused by repeated irradiation of reading light is reduced. The quencher is pref. a transition metal chelate compound from the aspect of the reduction in regenerative deterioration and the good compatibility with a dye coupling resin. |
