PURPOSE:To obtain a rodent repellent paint capable of stably maintaining the effect for a long period of time, by blending a paint with microcapsule of cycloheximide covered with a wall material. CONSTITUTION:About 0.25-50wt% cycloheximide (a) is dissolved in an org. solvent (e.g., dimethyl phthalate) which is inert to the component a and can be dissolved in the component a to an appropriate extent, thereby forming a core. The core is covered with a wall material (b) (e.g., polyamide) to obtain microcapsules. A paint (A) (e.g., phenolic resin varnish) is mixed with the component B and, if necessary, a plasticizer, drying agent, anti-skinning agent, levelling agent, anti-sag agent, etc., thereby obtaining a rodent repellent paint. The paint is applied onto a wire cable, flexible container, paper bag, wall cloth, etc., in an amt. of about 0.05-2.0g/m<2> in terms of the component a.
