[Also in Division E1] An excavator support structure comprises a frame 1 mounted at its front end, by means of U-shaped clamps 26, on a horizontal ram 22 having depending limbs 21 mounting non- driven wheels 15, and at its rear end by horizontal limbs 17 pivotable about vertical axes and connected with support legs 18 which are movable vertically with respect to said limbs 17. The limbs 21 also move vertically with respect to said beam 22 and the wheels are pivotally on the ends of said limbs such that their rotational axes may be inclined to allow the excavator to operate on sloping ground, Fig. 2. The beam 22 may be made from telescoping sections and adjustable in length with the frame 6 movable along said beam. The frame 6 mounts a rotatable platform with a cabin 7, from the latter of which hydraulic rams 3, 4 and 5 are controlled to operate a scoop 11. |
