The title compds. (I; n = 0 or 1; Y = =0; R1,R2,R3,R4 = H or C1-3 alkyl; R5,R6 = H; R7 = H or C5-7 cycloalkyl), useful as antihypertensives (no data), were prepd. by closing the ring of wmercaptocarboxylic acid or its derivatives. Thus, 2.0 g N- cyclopentyl-N-(3-mercapto-2-methylpropanoyl)glycin was reacted with 2.7 g 2,2'-dipyridyldisulfide and 5.2g triphenylphosphine to give 0.5g 4-cyclopentyl-6,7-dihydro-6-methyl-1,4-thiazaphen-2,5-(3H,4H) dione (27%).
