PURPOSE:To prevent the pressure of an ink in an ink chamber from being fluctuated and obtain an ink jet printing head capable of printing with favorable quality and being highly reliable, by providing a horn form ink-supplying passage between a pressure chamber and the ink chamber, the passage being enlarged toward the ink chamber. CONSTITUTION:When printing by jetting ink droplets, an ink pressure wave generated in a pressure chamber 22 for jetting the ink droplet is propagated simultaneously to a nozzle 21 and an ink-supplying passage 23. The ink-supplying passage 34 is formed in the shape of an exponential horn. The sound wave passing through the horn can not be transmitted in a frequency range below a cutoff frequency fc. Therefore, when dimensions are so set that the cutoff frequency fc is higher than the frequency fe of residual vibration of the pressure wave generated in the pressure chamber 22, the sound wave propagated into the ink-supplying passage 34 is not propagated into an ink chamber 24, due to the change in cross-sectional area of the horn shape of the passage 34. Accordingly, the pressure of the ink in the ink chamber 24 can be prevented from being fluctuated. |
