PURPOSE:To simplify a device and to miniaturize the device by installing an optical writing device and an electrostatic charge removing device behind the photosensitive layer of a photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:This electrophotographic device is provided with the electrifier 2 which gives an electrostatic charge onto the photosensitive body, the optical writing device 3 which forms an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive body, a developing device 4 which develops the electrostatic latent image into a visual image with a developer, a transfer device 6 which transfers the visual image to a recording body, and an electrostatic charge removing device 7 which removes the charge on the photosensitive body. The photosensitive body is constituted by laminating a photosensitive layer 13 on a transfer base and the optical writing device 3 and electrostatic charge removing device 7 are installed behind the photosensitive layer 13. When the part where the charge on the photosensitive layer 13 needs to be removed is projected with light by the optical writing device 3 from inside the photosensitive drum 10, the light from the optical writing device 3 is transmitted through the transparent drum 11 and transparent electrode 12 of the photosensitive drum 10 to reach the photosensitive layer 13, so that photoelectrons are discharged from the photosensitive layer 13. Consequently, the constitution facing the photosensitive body is decentralized to miniaturize the device without making the device complex.
