PURPOSE:To eliminate a difference in fixing performance due to a difference in the energy absorption coefficient of a toner by varying the distance of flash irradiation according to the kind of toner in use. CONSTITUTION:When a developing device is attachable to and detachable from a main body and a process cartridge, the distance of flash irradiation is varied according to the kinds A and B of toner used in a replaced developing device. Namely, an operation part 40 having selection keys 401 and 402 for the toner kinds A and B and a position displacement control means 41 which varies the vertical distance to the conveyance path 9 of a flash fixing device 20 according to the signal from the operation part 40 are provided. This operation part 40 is replaceable with a means which performs control automatically with a signal inputted according to the toner in the developing device. The range A of fixation by one-time light emission of a strobe light emission fixing device 20 varies relatively with the irradiation distance, etc. Consequently, excellent fixation is performed. |
