PURPOSE:To properly provide a working quality even if a distance from the outlet of a carbon dioxide gas laser oscillator to a working point is varied by altering the pressure of assist gas in response to the distance from the outlet of the oscillator to the working point. CONSTITUTION:Since working qualities of points A, B, C of a workpiece 3 become different when a laser output value, working speed and assist gas emit ted to the workpiece are set to predetermined conditions, a position detector is composed on a work table 2, and the gas pressure is switched to a suitable value of the position by the detector. Thus, any position of the workpiece 3 provided on the work table 2 can be suitably worked. |
