PURPOSE:To facilitate to generate an external character pattern by providing a holding means to hold the input information of a cursor shifting key inputted immediately before a key input means. CONSTITUTION:In the electronic equipment to be able to generate a special pattern equipped with a cursor shifting key 26, a dot on key 25, a displaying device 30 and a pattern generating means, a holding means to hold the input information of the cursor shifting key inputted immediately before a key input means is provided. The pattern generating means turns on the said displaying dot when a dot on key 25 is pressed down and inputted and the displaying dot of the cursor position of the displaying device 30 is off, and when the displaying dot of the above-mentioned cursor position is off, after the cursor is shifted in accordance with the information of the holding means, the processing to turn on the displaying dot of the cursor shifting position is executed. The instruction input operation at the time of generating the pattern is facilitated.
