A drug dispensing cartridge (3) accommodated in a drug dispensing apparatus for dispensing and packing an individual drug dose or doses in compliance with input information. The cartridge (3) accommodates a large number of drug doses of the same kind in space (46) and includes a rotary plate (31) facing space (46) on its one side, a plurality of claw pieces (35) mounted on the rotary plate (31) so as to be freely reciprocable in the radial direction, a plurality of holding members (41) each securely mounted on the claw piece to hold the drug dose in cooperation with a stationary wall (39) formed on a partition plate (40) which is disposed between the rotary plate (31) and the drug storing space (46), a drug outlet defined in the stationary wall (39), a cam mechanism (61) for controlling the advancing and retreating of the claw pieces as plate (31) rotates, and a device for detecting each drug dose discharged. A plurality of cartridges may be ranked in facing X-Y arrays, with a discharge chute therebetween, the drugs falling into a packaging arrangement. <IMAGE> |
