PURPOSE:To obtain high transfer efficiency and to form an image having high resolution by transferring the image with light press contact force of <=100kg/cm<2> then fixing the image with a fixer contg. a prescribed solvent in the stage of transfer. CONSTITUTION:The press contact force of a transfer roller and photosensitive body is maintained at >=10kg/cm<2> for a toner essentially consisting of a PE and to >=20kg/cm<2> and <=100kg/cm<2> for the toner essentially consisting of a PP. The fixer prepd. by dissolving a polyvinyl butyral in a solvent such as alcohols or ketones is supplied to the transfer paper by the fixing roller 11a after the transfer. The fixer penetrates among the toner particles and as the solvent evaporates, the crosslinking thereof is initiated, by which the toner is fixed to the transfer paper. The defects by the transfer by the high press contact force and the fixing at a high temp. are, therefore, averted and the high transfer efficiency is obtd. and the image having the high resolution is formed.
