PURPOSE:To exactly stop a punch holder at a desired replacement position by controlling a geared motor for rotating at a low speed a power transmission mechanism which is in a nearly stop state, in an automatic replacement machine of a punch of a cold press machine for screw. CONSTITUTION:A main motor for driving a rolling machine is stopped, and by its inertia motion, each part is stopped naturally in the vicinity of an initial stop position S through a power transmission mechanism such as a fly-wheel 11, etc. By a timer which has been set by forecasting this stop time, a small diameter gear 102 of a geared motor 103 is engaged to a large diameter gear 101 for a low speed, and the wheel is rotated at a low speed. As a result, a punch holder 7 of a horizontal ram 10 moves toward a replacement position T through a crank shaft 12 and a connecting rod 14, and also a material feeding plate 24 is further decelerated and rotated through a position 16 and a cam gear, etc. When it is rotating, when the holder 7 reaches the position T, a positioning terminal 112 on the plate 24 is detected by detectors 110, 111, both of them become an on-state, and the motor 103 is stopped.
