PURPOSE:To speed up access by measuring the quantity of relative position shifting between the Q code and header information of a CD-ROM, finding the quantity of Q code offset from the quantity of shifting, and correcting the quantity of shifting and attaining the access. CONSTITUTION:When the CD-ROM 1 is loaded, a disk loading/unloading signal generation part 10 detects the quantity of shifting. The difference between the quantity of shifting and a certain set quantity is compared by a control part 7 to obtain the quantity of offset. When data is accessed thereafter, the Q code is shifted by the quantity of offset to obtain a desired Q code. Consequently, the position of a target header is reaches in the minimum time regardless of whether or not where is a position shift between the Q code and header, so an access time is shortened.
