PURPOSE:To display immediately prescribed words and phrases by a picture by a simple processing operation, and also to return them immediately to the original picture, after the reference, by providing a reference table on a prescribed storage part, in an editor device, and storing a table of prescribed contents in the reference table. CONSTITUTION:In a picture shown on the upper side of the figure, when an operator desires to compare words and phrases of 'OUTPUT' with a program having the same words and phrases, he brings a cursor 11 to a position of its CALLOUTPUT (BUF), and operates a specified key 12 (PFO). By a program in a prescribed storage part of an editor device, a syntax interpretation is executed, and a program having words and phrases of 'OUTPUT' is retrieved. As a result, as a picture shown in the lower side of the figure, SUBROUTINE OUTPUT (BUF) is displayed so as to be positioned in the uppermost stage. After checking the contents of the words and phrases 'OUTPUT', when returning to the picture of the upper side of the figure, a specified key 13 (PF1) is operated. At that time, it can be returned easily by a program processing.
