<p>Concentrated protein material is produced by extracting the impurities from crude proteinaceous material derived from sea animals by means of a solvent, the different extracting operations being carried out in treatment zone. Specifically the crude proteinaceous material pref. consists of fish. The protein material is produced by (a) getting the fish, to produce fish fillets, (b) comminuting the fish fillets. (c) extracting the comminuted material with a defatting agent, in order to remove fat components of flavoured materials, (d) recomminuting the material, (e) extracting with a solvent which removes water and the remaining impurities, (f) opt. subjecting to further comminuting and extracting compounds with a second solvent, and (g) drying the purified protein product.</p> |
