PURPOSE:To improve a product quality by arranging a circular accurate concave part and convex part on the way of a rotary belt, forming the molten material as a sheet at the concave part and separating the sheet from the belt at the convex part. CONSTITUTION:The convex part wheel 2, in which holds cooling water, is arranged as driving a metallic belt 1 for cooling, and the concave part wheel 5, which forms a concave part of the belt 1 at adjacent to the convex part wheel 2, is also arranged. The rotary belt is formed by putting on the belt 1 around the wheels 2, 5 and is driven by the wheel 2. The molten material 16 in a receiving vessel 14 is poured at the lower side of the concave part 6 of the belt 1 and is rapidly cooled by pushing it to the belt surface through a centrifugal force to form the foil 19. The foil 19 cooled sufficiently is separated at the convex part 4 of the belt 1 by its rigidity and is wound by a coiler 20. As the molten metal 16 is rapidly cooled by bringing into contact with the belt 1 through the centrifugal force, the quality of the foil 19, such as mechanical properties, etc., is improved.
