PURPOSE:To make a person in charge of maintenance perform maintenance similar to a specialist by storing messages outputted from an objective device of diagnosis and maintenance, making statistical processing on them, and indicating operation deduced utilizing statistical information and knowledges of diagnosis and maintenance of stored knowhow of specialists to a person in charge of maintenance. CONSTITUTION:Messages of the state of system outputted from an objective device of diagnosis and maintenance are stored in a message storage device 3. Stored messages are processed statistically and stored in a message information statistics storage device 4. Message statistics information is collated with a diagnosis and maintenance knowledge storage device 6 in which knowhow of specialists who make diagnosis and maintenance is stored in form of rules by a deducing means 5, and an operation to be executed by a person in charge of maintenance is determined. The deduced operation is indicated to the person in charge of diagnosis and maintenance by a diagnosis and maintenance operation indication outputting device 7. Thus, diagnosis and maintenance similar to expert specialists can be executed.
