PURPOSE:To increase connecting strength and simultaneously to facilitate a welding work by piling up the flange of a front pillar and both side end parts of a dash upper panel at both side walls of an air box in the car width direction and performing a spot welding on this piled up section. CONSTITUTION:Each of flanges 7a, 7b in front of a pillar inner panel 6a and a pillar outer panel 6b constituting a front pillar 6 is welded on almost the same face as the side face 4a of a hood ridge reinforce 4 constituting body side walls of an air box 1. Then, one flange 7a is made to remain extended inside the side face 4a and put upon the rear past of the side face 4a. Further, a dash upper panel 2 constituting the air box 1 makes the side flange 15 of its rear wall face 1a extend to the side face 4a and makes the flange 7a to be plied thereon from inside. And in the vicinity of this piled up section, this piled up section is subjected to spot welding through a work hole 16 installed in the hood ridge reinforce 4.
