<p>PURPOSE:To contrive to miniaturize a device by detecting a steering torque accompanying the rotating operation of a handle by means of a torque sensor and driving an electric motor including a stator fixed to a column shaft, according to the detected output, so as to get a steering aid. CONSTITUTION:When a handle is rotated, a torsion bar 8 is twisted and then a voltage signal in response to the torsional quantity of the torsion bar 8 is generated in a torque sensor 9. Then this voltage signal is input into a control unit 12 through a preamplifier 10 and a slipring 11. In this control unit 12, first of all, car speed data are compared with standard data and when the car speed data are less than the standard value, next a detected signal concerning this steering torque is compared with that standard data. Then, when the steering torque is the standard value or more, the rotating direction of a pulse type electric motor M and its output pulse rate are decided and the electric motor M is driven through a driving circuit and then steering aid is generated.</p> |
