PURPOSE:To generate a sentence which has conformed with a correct grammar rule irrespective of a degree of knowledge related to grammar, by displaying successively a word in a section selected by a paraphrase dictionary part, in accordance with an input of a word which has been stored in a synonym dictionary part. CONSTITUTION:A word is classified in accordance with a synonymity relation in a grammar rule of a prescribed language, and the classified word is stored in a synonym dictionary part 12, together with each different classification code which has been put to every classified section. By following an input of a word which has been stored in advance, the classification code corresponding to a section of a word which is set in the dictionary part 12 by containing said word is retrieved in a paraphrase dictionary part 13. In the dictionary part 13, which regard to the section containing an optional word which has been stored in the dictionary part 12, the section containing the optional word corresponds to every other section which has been made to correspond in a similar word dictionary part 11, the the word which has been divided in accordance with this correspondence relation is displayed successively on a display device 3.
