PURPOSE:To measure the direction and value of intensity in a short time with high precision and to detect the position of a sound source by providing three couples of sensors which cross one another at right angles and combining their arithmetic output results. CONSTITUTION:This acoustic intensity wattmeter consists of a sensor part 1 for acoustic wave, an acoustic intensity arithmetic circuit 7, and a display part 4 for results. Then, the sensor part 1 consists of sensors 11 and 12 for the axial X components of a support 2, sensors 13 and 14 for the Y component, and sensors 15 and 16 for the Z component, which are provided opposite each other in orthogonal crossing relation. Then, the direction and value of intensity are composed by using the sensor output signals of the couples and displayed 4. Thus, the flow direction of sound is known at a time and the direction of the sound source is detected at any time, and consequently a sound which moves and a sound source which varies in level with time are detected with high precision.
