发明名称 Improvements in combined radiator shell and mud guard
摘要 393,461. Radiator shells and splashguards. TRIGGS, W. W., 57, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.-(City Auto Stamping Co. ; Toledo, Ohio, U.S.A.) Oct. 11, 1932, No. 28365. [Classes 79 (iii) and 136 (i).] A radiator shell for motor vehicles is combined with a " trim " formation or false extension simulating a continuation of the surface of the shell, such formation being mounted in such a position on a support, e.g. a splash apron, below the shell as to register with the side portions of the shell and form a transverse interconnection in relation thereto. The combined radiator shell and splash guard shown comprises an inverted U-shaped shell 1 having a convex face, and a depending apron 2 formed with, or attached to, a relief member 3, which extends across the lower end of the shell 1 and projects forwardly from the apron in such a way as to simulate a continuation of the face of the shell in outline and convexity. The apron 2 has integral side wings 12 extended laterally at 13 to overhang the chassis bars. The member 3 may be attached to the apron 2 by welding lugs 9, Fig. 7, on the member 3 to lugs 10 bent out of the apron 2. The lower ends of the shell 1 are also connected by a downwardlybent bar which supports the radiator core. The apron 2 may be formed with an ornamental design at 8.
