This describes an electrode for an electrochemical secondary cell, which electrode is of the pocket electrode type with active electrode mass and current discharge device encased in a pocket cover, where contact between the electrode mass and the current discharge device is achieved by the pocket cover being stapled with staples. The characteristic of the electrode according to the invention is that the staples after the first stapling have been subjected to a further pressing operation so that the legs of the staples have been bent further and thereby impart built-in tensile stress. In addition a method is described for manufacturing the said electrode, where after having arranged the electrode mass and the current discharge device inside a cover and stapled this cover with staples, a further pressing operation is carried out so that the legs of the staples are bent further and thereby impart built-in tensile stress. Finally an electrochemical secondary cell is described which comprises at least one electrode of the type described above. <IMAGE> |
